Pousada Girassol provided the perfect sanctuary during my recent visit to Bonito. Nestled conveniently near the heart of the town, it allowed for leisurely strolls to delightful shops and delightful restaurants, which is always a plus for a solo travel enthusiast like myself, always eager to soak up local flavours. My air-conditioned room, boasting a charming balcony overlooking a well-tended garden, felt like a serene retreat after a day of exploring. Each morning, I was greeted by a sumptuous homemade breakfast buffet, rich with artisan breads, pastries, and vibrant fruits-fit for a king and truly satisfying. Despite a couple of concerns with the bathroom facilities, the general ambiance of the Pousada was beautifully maintained and refreshing. The attentive staff, with some speaking English, added an extra layer of warmth to my stay; their hospitality reminded me of the Irish charm back home. The lush gardens and warm pool beckoned, and although I didn't dive in due to the pesky mosquitoes, I cherished the moments spent lounging among the birds chirping merrily nearby. All in all, Pousada Girassol is not just a place to rest but a genuine experience that resonates deeply with those who, like me, seek comfort, beauty, and a touch of home when on the road.
